“Healing Songs”\, Henri Texier looks back on six decades of musical creati
on. In the face of an increasingly disturbing world\, the French bassist h
as selected nine earlier compositions that have brought him comfort and wh
ose power he now wishes to share with his audience. Together with a newly
formed quintet\, he reinterprets these pieces in the classic hard bop line
up. Between lyrical melodies\, powerful grooves and open improvisations\,
a music emerges that connects memory and the present – and seeks to convey
  hope.
